I’ve spent 36 years in construction, starting in the paper mills of Northern Maine and working across industrial, commercial, infrastructure, and power projects.
During 24 years with RUST Constructors, I took on roles including chief field engineer, area manager, commissioning superintendent, and heavy lift superintendent. My work included field engineering, construction planning, procurement coordination, and project completion. I learned from experienced people across the trades and disciplines—and developed an appreciation for how every part of a project fits together.
When my girls were getting old enough to notice how often I was away, I stepped off the road. Project management work in Maine broadened my experience into site development, commercial construction, and healthcare projects, with responsibility for budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and the details that keep work moving.
In 2019, a relationship built at RUST brought me to Kansas City and Black & Veatch Construction, Inc. There, I served as Home Office Operations Support Manager and Corporate Qualifier. My responsibilities spanned multistate contractor licensing, compliance, proposal and preconstruction coordination, local permitting, and project mobilization. I supported budgets and cost control, operational reporting, branding, and communications, while developing training and workforce programs to help field staff arrive prepared. I also oversaw BVCI payroll operations, managed the material managers, and oversaw the development of a direct-hire survey team. Across that work, I connected home-office functions—including finance, estimating, labor relations, legal, HR, and payroll—with the needs of project leadership and the people doing the work in the field.
Those experiences shaped 3L Licensing & Consulting. Today, I help contractors work through licensing requirements, explore new markets, connect with qualifying-party candidates, and prepare for the work ahead.
Licensing appeals to the problem-solver in me. It requires attention, keeps changing, and always offers something new to learn—a little like a good Sudoku puzzle.
I bring that same attention to practical contractor support. People do their best work when the plan is clear, expectations are understood, and someone has thought through the details before their first day. That’s the approach I bring to 3L: preparation, clear communication, and a willingness to work through the details.
PROJECTS ALONG THE WAY
Twenty-four years with RUST took me from paper mills in Northern Maine to manufacturing facilities, power plants, nuclear facilities, and infrastructure projects around the country. These are the projects—and the people behind them—that helped shape how I work today.
